Journey Further wins Performance Marketing Agency of the Year

The Gold winner in the category for Campaign’s Global Agency of the Year Awards is Journey Further, UK, US.
Over the past year, Journey Further has lived up to its name, expanding into the North American market with a new office in New York City, securing Adobe as its first US client. It’s also journeying further across the states, with full-time team members in California and Texas.
The performance marketing shop has expanded its core UK business too, with the launch of its new Creative and Influencer team, plus several large, multi-channel account wins including Pavers, Oliver Bonas, Dr Martens, Ecco, Marks & Spencer, Matalan, Ghd, Go Henry, GymKing, and Trainline, contributing to a 44% YoY growth in client fee revenue in 2022 to £12.9m.
For Liberty London it experimented with site navigation to help Liberty generate £4m in 12 months through its inhouse front-end UX and experimentation development team, who are skilled in building complex front-end tests. The commercial benefit was achieved using advanced statistical measurement, along with Journey Further’s proprietary tools and systems.
As well as existing relationships with the likes of Sky, Ritter Sport, Liberty London and Frasers Group (including House of Fraser, Jack Wills, Sports Direct and Game), Journey Further also works with several fast-growth startups and scale-up brands, including the independent alcohol-free beer brand Lucky Saint, food delivery service Oddbox, and home decor brand Lick.
Named as one of Campaign’s Best Places to Work for 2022, Journey Further describes itself as “a people-first agency. Founded in 2017, the agency has grown from its three founders to over 180 performance specialists across three UK (and now one US) office locations. In addition to the always-on Officevibe tool, the agency leadership team hosts a monthly whole company call, where anonymous questions are answered in detail. Journey Further boasts a staff retention rate of above 96%.
Its “(Not just a) Grad Scheme” is also open to non-graduates: “by removing this barrier to entry, we are more inclusive of diverse backgrounds in groups such as career changers and school leavers,” the agency says. In 2022 the scheme grew by 116% with 10 people starting on the scheme, all taking their first steps into the industry.
Journey Further won praise from the judges for “blending the science of digital marketing with a clear narrative. Journey Further boasts an impressive array of proprietary tools, and opinions that they are not afraid to share.” The judges were also effusive about the agency’s “energy, fun and hard work, and a strong framework to recruit diverse talent. The contribution of the founder to the company culture is evident throughout.”
